The Philosophy With Our Plugins |

Our Mission: Rare VST Plugins and Audio Units
When MHC Synthesizers and Effects started, the mission was to develop plugins
which stand out from the crowd. They should be "ambient" in the sense that they
have a magic- and almost organic sound. We wanted to provide new timbres and
interesting concepts, because the competitors' had failed to meet such a
demand and we believe that they still have.
Many vendors, including the market leaders, provided tools which were
indeed useful and professional, but often they were lacking something. Musicians would
identify their instruments as plugins and not true instruments in its original sense.
We believe that our competitors haven't changed. Maybe you have used some of the most
professional plugins on the market, but after some time you conclude that they are
missing something, but you don't know what.
The Competitors' Mistake: Too Clean and Sterile Plugins
The problems our competitors have is that their plugins are too clean and don't really
mimic hardware synthesizers in a useful way. Musicians need musical instruments which
are magic, and seem to have a life of their own. They pulsate, breath and put strain
on the task to synthesize timbres which are useful, interesting and unique. The same should apply
to plugins and we believe that our software is different from the average synthesizers and
effects on the market in that sense. Musicians don't need instruments which are cold
and sterile, but warm, organic and almost alive.
What's difficult for a plugin vendor is to provide instruments which are so unique and
magic that they almost seem to be alive. That's an organic sound which is very hard to
implement, but we believe that we have succeeded.
Instruments should have an attitude of their own, a sound of their own, a personal touch.
Vendors often use the same concept and do the same mistakes when they are developing
plugins. We don't. We have our own ideas on how things should be done.
The Internals
So we use several techniques, internally in our plugins, to give the instruments an almost
magic touch. When you play our synthesizers or use our effects, you can feel that this is
something special, you are playing an instrument and it has an almost organic sound.
In addition we work hard to make the plugins sound at least as good as traditional
hardware synthesizers do, and in many cases even better. But without commiting the mistake
that many of our competitors do, they fail to give the instrument a soft, living and
warm sound. Cold, sterile and digital-sounding plugins are not our cup of tea. We work
hard with the internals to develop plugins which have an attitude. You're a musician and
you need tools which are remarkable, not whimpy and cold.
